Overview

This 8-Month online program provides courses in Medical Office Procedures and Administration, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Pharmacy Technician and Insurance Billing and Coding Essentials. You’ll build a well-rounded resume of knowledge with expertise in the front office arenas of insurance billing, coding, electronic health records and the medication background of a pharmacy technician.
 
When your program is complete, MedCerts covers your registration costs to sit for four Allied Healthcare Professional Certifications including Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), Medical Coder & Biller Certification (MCBC) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT).

  • Super VGA (1024 x 768) or higher-resolution video adapter with 128MB VRAM and monitor. The latest versions Macromedia Flash player and Shockwave player plug-ins for Internet browser (Firefox doesn’t use plug-ins installed for IE)
  • Shockwave You may be asked to install Shockwave on your machine to facilitate your online training. Follow the steps to install Shockwave making sure to uncheck the box that states “Install Yahoo Tool bar”.
  • Active X If at some point you may be asked to install Active X, please do so.
  • Adobe Reader If you cannot open and read your transcript you will need to go to www.adobe.com and download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.


High Speed Broadband Internet Connection is Required
    Recommended Internet speeds:

    • Ping response of less than 100ms

Coming in July 2023.  Students can enroll and study at their own pace.

Students enrolled in a structured Online workforce development program are required to engage in an academically related activity every week. If a student is absent for 10 consecutive calendar days, the students’ enrollment in the program will be terminated. A student whose enrollment is terminated for violation of the attendance policy may not re-enroll until the next cohort starts that offers the same course the student was scheduled. This provision does not circumvent the approved refund policy.

Certification Information

The Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), Medical Coder & Biller Certification (MCBC) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT) credentials are awarded by the private certification organizations, National Healthcare Association (NHA) and American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), and taken in addition to any state licensing or regulatory requirements.

CMAA

Certified Medical Administration Assistant

The Certified Medical Administrative Assistant certification is designed to help you gain the skills to provide administrative support in a medical setting. Earn your national CMAA credential, accredited through the NHA, to demonstrate your expertise in the field and become qualified for a number of administrative duties, as well as direct contact with patients in clinical settings.

CEHRS

Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist

Become a medical records specialist with a CEHRS certification through the NHA. A Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist provides critical support to healthcare facilities in the proper handling of patient information and national certification will lead to a fulfilling career.

MCBC

Medical Coder & Biller Certification

Our Billing & Coding certification program provides you with all the skills you need to obtain the Medical Coder & Biller Certification, or MCBC, through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA). Our programs will prepare you for the Medical Coder & Biller Certification (MCBC) exam and open doors to successfully begin a career in medical billing and coding.

ExCPT

Certified Pharmacy Technician

The certified Pharmacy Technician training program will teach you all the skills you need to gain the Certified Pharmacy Technician certification through the NHA (National Healthcareer Association). The Pharmacy Technician certification exam provides the opportunity to work in a pharmacy setting and receive requests for prescriptions from doctor’s offices and patients.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is not recognized by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC), and therefore residents of the State of Georgia are NOT eligible for enrollment into this program. The Pharmacy Technician certification training in this program is NOT available to students who plan to work in the following states: SC, LA, SD, ND, VA, WV, UT, MI and OH. Students in WA State: the pharmacy technician certification is NOT approved for long-term licensing. The WA Board of Pharmacy has additional requirements if the student plans to permanently reside in Washington. If a student is living in WA short-term (less than 2-years) they can obtain a temporary license.
